The Ministry Development Year is an eleven-month programme for 18-25 year olds that combines personal and professional development, intentional discipleship and church-based work placement. The year is designed to help individuals develop their professional, ministerial and leadership skills and invest in their personal and spiritual growth. You’ll receive housing, meals and a small stipend while you’re here.

Applications for MDY 26-27 are now open. Not sure where to start? We recommend reading through the MDY info pack and praying about it.

If you’re unsure whether the MDY is right for you, get in touch to arrange an informal chat with one of our team.

Could God Be Calling you to the Isle of wight?

embark on a life-changing year.

  • Ryde All Saints is a vibrant, welcoming church on the Isle of Wight with a vision to see under-30s ( and people of all ages) find a true sense of belonging.

We long to see God transform the island, where fewer than 1% of the population currently attends church. Our desire is to build a church that not only draws in young people but also nurtures a thriving, inclusive community.

We’re seeking young people who are willing to dedicate a year of their lives helping move us from vision to action - by growing as individuals, growing together and growing the church through missional living & service

  • You’ll grow through inductions and training, living in Christian community, hands-on experience, pastoral support, worship and prayer. We’ll also deliver a varied programme of weekly teaching to help you pursue growth in your personal spiritual life, discipleship, explore your gifts and skills, and practically apply what you’ve learned in an area of church ministry. You’ll also get to be part of a multi-cultural congregation - who welcome our MDY students with open arms.

  • Our goal is that each person in the MDY programme will gain experience across the full life of the church, serving in a variety of ministry areas throughout the year. Participants will have opportunities to learn, lead, and contribute as we continue to grow and serve our city.

Participants will also work together as the Ministry Development Team on specific MDY projects and shared areas of interest.

As a growing church plant, the following are some of the ministry areas in which you will have opportunities to serve, help establish, and grow:

    • Communications & Media

    • Worship & Production

    • Social transformation projects through our Love Your Neighbour ministry

    • Kids

    • Youth

    • Operational Services like facilities, finance, Operations and HR

  • There are no tuition fees for taking part in MDY. Housing is included, as are the bills like heating, water, wifi etc. You’ll also receive a small stipend (equivalent to £80 per week) for travel, food, hygiene and other personal upkeep costs.

You will have to arrange and pay for your own travel to and from the island, and If you are coming from abroad you will have to finance your own flights and visa (though we can help talk you through the visa process!)

  • Our MDY House is a very cool Victorian 1850’s vicarage - though it’s a shared house, there’s plenty of space including a large garden, and spacious bedrooms. It has 2 lounge areas, TV, Wifi, and all the bills are covered.

  • Anyone who will be age 18-25 when they start the programme can apply. You don’t have to have lots of existing skills, but you must have a love for Jesus and a Christian faith. A willingness to learn and serve, a positive attitude and a longing to grow closer to God and live in community are a must.
