OCTOBER 2025 - UPDATE
New Completion Date & Christmas Plans
We’ve been working hard to renew and improve our church building to better serve our community. While good progress has been made, we’ve encountered some unexpected delays. As a result, the full completion of the works is now expected by the end of March 2026.
The good news is that we will be able to use the building on a temporary basis over the Christmas period for worship and celebration. After Christmas, the building will close again so work can continue.
Many of you will also be wondering about Remembrance. Our team is working with the Ryde Town Council and other key stakeholders to ensure the service goes ahead, but there are likely to be some changes to location and timings this year. We will make sure communication is clear on what will happen ahead of the service.
We’re so grateful for your ongoing patience, support, and prayers. Please continue to pray for all those involved in the project, and look out for further updates as we move closer to completion.
JULY 2025 - ANNOUNCEMENT (now edited for new completion date of March 2026)
Ryde All Saints Church Renovation starts - a new chapter begins
All Saints Church, Ryde, is excited to announce the start of the renovation works to the main church building. The works will begin on 10th July and are due to conclude in March 2026. This exciting project marks the start of a new chapter in our long history, enabling us to better serve the Ryde community for generations to come.
The much-anticipated improvements include the installation of a new heating system, a sound system, new seating using the original pews (which will now be movable) and chairs — all carefully designed to sit beautifully alongside the church’s fantastic historic features.
The project reflects a deep commitment to preserving the rich heritage of All Saints while making the space more welcoming, accessible, and fit for purpose. The addition of a new café area at the rear will help foster connections for all generations both on Sundays and mid-week opportunities throughout the week.
The project has been shaped through careful consultation and collaboration, including detailed on-site consultation and negotiation with the Victorian Society, resulting in a renovation plan that respects the church’s unique character by retaining details such as the central cross of Victorian tiles and sixty of the original pews, while embracing thoughtful updates like the addition of a café area and more efficient heating to suit modern use.
“We’re thrilled to see this vision coming to life,” said the Team Rector, the Rev Heath Monaghan. “This work will prepare us for the next stage of our mission to Ryde, equipping us to offer a warm welcome to the whole community in a space that honours both tradition and transformation.”
Importantly, the life of the church will continue uninterrupted:
Our 9.30 and 11.00 am services will move temporarily into the church hall at the rear of the building, and we would love to see you there. The 11am kids’ church and Youth offering will continue - with Kids’ church in the vestry hub and Youth meeting in the vicarage.
All other community groups and activities that use the hall will continue as normal - if you attend a group that hires the church hall please check with the organiser for any changes.
